Happy 50th -- Hawaiian Style

Recently a friend turned 50. I was asked by his wife to make a confetti cake with pineapple filling for him in Hawaiian theme.

This cake sported a fondant covered board with a picture hidden below the cake. As the cake was cut and served the picture slowly revealed itself. 

I opted to do a sandy beach island in the ocean complete with palms, a surf board, a tiki bar with beer mugs, towels and sea shells. All edible. The invitation had references to Hawaii 5-0, so I incorporated the police shield into the "0" on Happy 5-0 Joe.
